President Donald Trump announced on February 28 that the United States had begun what he called \u201cmajor combat operations\u201d in Iran, launching a dramatic new phase of direct American military involvement.<\/p>\n

In a video address, Trump said the operation was intended to defend Americans and eliminate what his administration described as imminent threats from the Iranian regime.<\/p>\n
